So, I like to think of today as Land Back Day.
Through IndigiNews’ storytelling, we are able to celebrate and share the stories of the Peoples that have been on this land before ‘Canada’ became ‘Canada.’
By supporting IndigiNews, you are putting power back in the hands of Indigenous Peoples. You are helping reconciliation move forward, by supporting us in telling our own stories and reclaiming the narrative about our communities. And your support helps us continue to use storytelling to create understanding between Indigenous Peoples and settler communities.
This year alone, we’ve covered the leadership of Land Defenders and activists in Haida Gwaii, Woodland Cree territory, and Attawapiskat. I was also given the opportunity to share what it was like finding my ancestor’s remains shelved in storage at the Smithsonian.
These stories couldn’t have been told without your support.
Right now, we’re trying to raise $20,000 to continue this work. We appreciate any support you can provide as we continue to spotlight Indigenous leaders that hold colonial institutions to account. Will you help us continue this work?
